A Cozy Winter Starts with a Quick Safety Check

Snowfall has a possibility of coming! Be safe and warm!!!

Winter is coming…
With OKC’s first frost behind us, fireplaces and space heaters are back in rotation. A quick check now can prevent bigger problems later.

How to stay safe: Ventless fireplaces: Crack a window for airflow. If the flame or smell seems off, call a professional.

Wood-burning fireplaces: Make sure the chimney’s clean, the damper works and decorations aren’t too close to the heat.

Space heaters: Plug into the wall, keep clear space around them and turn them off before bed or leaving the room.

Home alarms: Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries.

A helpful resource: OKC homeowners can request free smoke detector installation from OKCFD. A few minutes of prep now keeps your home warm, safe and comfortable all winter.

Tulakes Food Pantry Pet Food Donations

One of our neighbors volunteers at the Tulakes Food Pantry located at 7202 Lyrewood Lane, Okc, Ok. They are in dire need of pet food. It’s one of the Commodities that most food pantries cannot get on a regular basis and they really need our help. We have a donation letter we can send you if you are interested in making a financial donation or if you have food to donate.

If you would be part of the project to help the less fortunate especially for the holidays coming it would be greatly appreciated! They need both dog and cat food wet or dry.

Some people only have their fur babies as family members. I know I would be heartbroken if I was unable to feed my dogs. If you have other non perishable items that you would like to donate as well, I am sure they would be pleased to get them.

Harvest Hills South Neighborhood Association has always supported giving back to the community. Let’s see what we can do to help this organization feed the fur babies.

Please contact us at Harvedsthillssouth@gmail.com if you have any additional questions or would like to donate.
