Halloween is coming!!!

Did you know you can add reflective tape or striping to costumes & trick-or-treat bags for greater visibility. Glow sticks also work great as bracelets & necklaces!

Have you checked out the treat map on Nextdoor? It lets you mark your house as giving treats, allergy free treats, or if you’re a haunted house! Go check it out & let the parents know you want trick or treaters!!!

You can now text 911

You can now text 911 if you need emergency help in the OKC area. It’s always better to call on the phone if you are able — so call if you can, text if you can’t.

Open a new text message, type 911 in the recipient field, type the location of your emergency and hit send. Someone will reply with instructions or questions.

This service should be particularly helpful for someone with hearing or speech impairments, or for someone who needs emergency services but can’t safely make a voice call.

Texting to 911 for an emergency in OKC will activate a response from the Oklahoma City Police Department, Oklahoma City Fire Department or EMSA OKLAHOMA. This service is in partnership with the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments, ensuring texts for emergencies will activate a response from whichever local jurisdiction is appropriate.
