2020 Membership Drive

With the first quarter of our year over, it’s time for our annual membership drive!

Annual dues are only $30! And of course you always have the option to donate more. All funds go directly for the neighborhood. Your most recent newsletter had the breakdown of exactly how much is spent on what. A few things include – landscaping at our 3 entrances, Neighbors Nite Out, electric at the entrances, the Santa drive, annual garage sale, printing flyers, etc….

Your board works hard all year long, but we need your support to keep our neighborhood great! There are 2 ways to join or renew your membership. The neighborhood mailing address for checks is P.O. Box 721804 Oklahoma City, OK 73172. If you prefer an electronic payment, please go to our blog at harvesthillssouth.org & click the PayPal donate button.

We love Harvest Hills South & thank you for your support!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Have you seen the new Help Map on Nextdoor? It’s a feature that will allow you to mark yourself as available to help those around you in need! After you are marked available, neighbors know they can reach out to you!

With COVID19 rapidly spreading, now is the time to reach out to our more vulnerable neighbors to see how we can assist them. If you are available to pick up someone’s groceries or prescriptions – anything that could help someone, please sign up! Yet another opportunity to meet your neighbors & make a friend!

While you’re quarantined…

We thought we would share some neighborhood happenings.

Have you considered being a Block Captain? Our block captains are essential to getting neighborhood newsletters delivered. If your street already has a block captain, consider volunteering for another street. Several of us do just that! It gives you the opportunity to get to know your neighborhood better & get to know some different people you might otherwise not run into.

Do you have spare time during the week? We’re in need of more volunteers for our crime patrol. There is a mandatory 1 hour training class held at the police station monthly in order to sign up. This has been a huge success in reducing the crime in Harvest Hills South. We prefer that there are 2 people for each patrol so no one goes out alone. What are you waiting for! Sign up for the class, familiarize yourself with your neighborhood, & meet some new friends!

While you’re stuck at home you might be thinking this is the perfect time to do your spring cleaning. And we are thinking the same thing! Our last 2 Neighborhood Garage Sales have been a huge success & we’re gearing up for our 3rd sale this May. If you’re clearing out & have stuff you’re considering getting rid of, we would LOVE to have it for our garage sale! All proceeds go towards the lighting at our neighborhood entrances. The last 2 sales brought in enough money for the lighting to be installed at our 82nd street entrance, but we still need $5,000 to complete the other 2 entrances.
Please reach out & we will schedule a time for you to drop off or for us to pick up your donation.
The sale is May 15-16 – do you have some time either of those days to volunteer and work with us? Even an hour of your time would be appreciated.

Neighborhood Meeting – Thurs March 12th at 7pm

Our neighborhood meeting is this Thursday March 12th at 7pm at Northridge Elementary! We have neighbors Ron & Kevin with Dragonfly Plant Maintenance coming to talk about getting our yards & gardens summer ready, so bring them some good questions! They have over 50 years experience working in both flower & vegetable gardens here in Oklahoma’s hot summers!

As always when meeting at Northridge Elementary we ask for donations for the school. Think office supplies, Clorox wipes, Kleenex…. they’re thankful for anything & all of your support!
