Happy Easter!! 🐣🐇

Steph here, I realized today how much I wanted to go somewhere. Then I thought back on the last several months & how I kept wishing life would just slow down, what I would give for just 1 weekend at home to catch up or maybe do nothing at all! And then I realized that is exactly what I’ve been given. This is definitely not how I imagined it, but figure why not make the most of it.
We’re gardening & growing things we’ve never grown before at our house. The garden is loving this weather & producing like crazy! Check out todays harvest of spinach & lettuce blend!
If you’re interested in starting your own garden, the summer planting date is coming fast! Typically you want to wait until our last frost threat is past & that tends to be April 15th. Summer crops that are fairly easy to grow are tomatoes, peppers, okra, beans, sunflowers, & corn. We’ll be growing all of these plus more this summer. Tomatoes & peppers grow really well in pots. Okra wants all the sun! A lot of bean varieties like to climb something. There’s lots of resources out there to help you get started!
We would love to know how you’re spending your time! Or any sanity saving boredom busting tips!
Don’t forget we’re holding our annual membership drive! Annual dues are $30 & we have 2 ways for you to join or renew your membership. The neighborhood mailing address for checks is P.O. Box 721804 Oklahoma City, OK 73172. If you prefer an electronic payment, please go to our blog at harvesthillssouth.org & click on the PayPal donate now button.
