General Meeting & Elections TONIGHT, May 9th, at Northridge Elementary at 7pm.

We have a guest speaker from Vincent Vacation discussing the do’s & don’ts of travel & how to get the best deals.

Elections will be held for the following positions: President, 2nd Vice President (membership), Treasurer, Block Captain Chair, & Secretary.

Don’t forget, we’re collecting school/teacher/office supplies for the school as well as any large paper bags for the Salvation Army.

And we have some great gift cards for the drawing after meeting/elections!

The General Meeting will be held this Thursday, May 9th, at 7:00pm at Northridge Elementary. Our guest speaker will be Leia with Vincent Vacations! She will give us the Do’s and Don’ts of travel and how to find the best deals. Summertime is coming! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
The second half of the meeting will be electing officers for the following positions.

Odd Year Election Positions:

President, 2^nd Vice President – Membership, Treasurer, Block Captain Chair, Special election for Secretary

This year we also have a special election for Secretary. If you are interested in running for any of these positions, please make sure you attend the meeting. I have included the responsibilities listed in the bylaws, for each position for your review.

President: Primary contact and public liaison for the association, signs checks, sets meeting agenda, preside at the meetings, chair the executive board meetings, facilitates the creating and monitoring of yearly neighborhood goals, responsible for maintaining social media sites.

2^nd Vice President: Perform the duties of President in the absence of President and 1^st Vice President, act as membership chairperson, receive membership application and relay membership checks to Treasurer, sign checks as required.

Treasurer: Receive all association money and pay association bills, keep records of checking account and bank statements, prepare checks for signature, report spending and bank balance at association meetings, executive board meetings and to the newsletter editor.

Block Captain Chairperson: Maintain a current list of Block Captains and alternates, communicate with Block Captains, distribute newsletters, flyers or any neighborhood information.

Open Position of Secretary: Keep and distribute minutes of the association and executive board meetings, keep archive of association documentation as appropriate.

Please consider volunteering for one of these positions. The more involved we are as a neighborhood, the better we can service you!

Please bring office supplies to donate to the school teachers & if you have any paper bags that we can give to the Salvation Army food pantry. These donations are greatly appreciated!

Residents are invited to an open house at Hefner Division on Tuesday, March 19th from 6pm-8pm. We will have snacks for our guests and plenty of officers for casual conversations on any items of interest. Tours will be given and we will also have free gun safety locks, frisbees, stickers, and coloring books for the kids. Location is 3924 NW 122nd street- if parking is full in the front, pull through the back gate, it will be open!

The March general neighborhood meeting is this Thursday March 14th at 6:30pm at Northridge Elementary School. We have Beth Crounse from the OKC Code Enforcement Office coming to speak to us. This will be very informative on learning what things are actual code violations & how to make our neighborhood a better neighborhood.

We will also be collecting office/teacher supplies for the school.

Our guest speaker was Jamie O’Leary from the 911 Communication Center. She provided great information & cleared up some misconceptions people have about calling 911. For instance, when you call 911 the most important thing you can tell them is your location. Teaching your children where they can find the address of their location is so important! Show them where they can find the address on a piece of mail, as simple as that & it can save lives. In OKC, the person taking your call isn’t dispatch. If you call 911 on accident please don’t hang up, stay on the line & explain that’s all it was. You won’t be in trouble, but they are required to call back all hang ups! Lastly, calling 911 in non emergencies is ok & most of the time they can redirect you as needed.

We always needs more people to join our Neighborhood Crime Patrol! Classes at Hefner station are Feb 26 & June 11, attend a class & join our Neighborhood Crime Patrol!

Please bring a teacher supplies donation for the teachers at Northridge Elementary as a thank you for allowing us to use their facility.

Our next neighborhood meeting is this Thursday, January 17 at 7pm @ Northridge Elementary. We look forward to seeing you there!
